i LOVE pumpkins!

So I was home tonight doing nothing, well just hanging out and I bought a lot of pumpkins because I just love pumpkins. I am one of those people that likes to decorate for a holiday. So I grabbed one of my pumpkins and decided I was going to carve one, except I didn't have any of the utensils to make it easier on me. Of course that didn't stop me though and I got a knife and this is what came out. I did google "best pumpkin carving ideas" and this was one of the results and I really liked it. So I drew the face on my pumpkin and carved it out the best I could, and I have to say I really like it. I urge everyone to carve a pumpkin this Halloween, it makes you feel like a little kid again :)

Ps. I bought the most perfect pumpkin the other day, I will post a picture tomorrow. But I'm not sure what to do with it now that I have it. Any ideas?

Geography

As some of you may know or not know my major is geography. I am a geographer, so I like to think. I love to know where things are located, why they are there, and I just LOVE to travel. I honestly am not quite sure what I will do with this, but I figured I'm just gonna do something I love to study about and than pave my own way. This is just a glimpse of what inspires me. There are amazing places all over the world to see and enjoy. And not just places but food too! Which is my absolute favorite. I wish one day that I will be able to travel every where, but until then I just have to see things in segments. If your curious about somewhere or want to go somewhere and need more information let me know and I can do some research for you and help you plan!

I blog in clumps...

I am so ridiculous at blogging. I really try to keep it updated and when life gets a little crazier my blogging becomes lazier. But, I have lots of things and ideas to share so here comes a ton of blogs!!

Today
Today is here. I will start with a smile, and resolve to be agreeable. I will not criticize. I refuse to waste my valuable time.
Today has one thing in which I know I am equal with others—Time. All of us draw the same salary in seconds, minutes, hours—24 Golden Hours each day.
Today I will not waste my time, because the minutes I wasted yesterday are as lost as a vanished thought.
Today I refuse to spend time worrying about what might happen. I am going to spend my time making things happen.
Today I am determined to study to improve myself, for tomorrow I may be wanted, and I must not be found lacking.
Today I am determined to do things I should do. I firmly resolve to stop doing the things I should not do.
Today I begin by doing and not wasting my time. In one week I will be miles beyond the person I am today.
Today I will not imagine what I would do if things were different. They are not different. I will make a success with what material I have.
Today I will stop saying, "If I had time," for I never will "find time" for anything—if I want time I must take it.
Today I will act toward other people as though this might be my last day on earth. I will not wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes.

Elder John Longden (Assistant to the 12 Apostles) Conference Report, Apr. 1966, 39; or Improvement Era, June 1966, 512

I read this today from one of my religion professors that posted it and I really liked it. I call it a pick-me-up! Not them I am down or anything, but it's motivating and it's true. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Black flatts

At the beginning of each season I almost always get a new pair of black flats. I just believe they should be essential in a woman's shoe collection. I wear them out so much, that usually after 3 or 4 months I badly need new ones. So this time I just decided to get a plain black pair that didn't cost as much, and add my own touch to them. I thought about adding a frilly flower, a bow, or mix of some stones. But I decided to go with buttons and I sawed off the back and glued them on there. They're still pretty simple but now they have a little something to spice it up.
